Article 23
September 25th, 2009 Posted in Boutique Article 1 : A commitment beyond style
Since its founding in 2006, Article 23 takes a stand and defends a different vision of fashion. With respect to environmental issues, all men and women prêt-à-porter collections are made from organic cotton and natural fabric. With respect to Human Rights, our studios in India respond to economic and social criteria of Fair Trade.
Article 2 : The harmony of ethics and style
We have married style and commitment through our collections, a harmonious enrichment that is our inspiration… Daring challenge. Our collaboration with designer Naia Rico breathes a refreshing and new creativity into our work with organic fabrics. Naia comes to us from the London College of Fashion, full of inspiration and ideas.
Article 3 : Proposing beautiful and personal collections
From the Seasonal collections that represent the signature style of our brand, to the ‘Eternels’, permanent line of basic cuts, Article 23 reinvents with subtlety and glamour past inspirations to create a retro chic and timeless look. The collections play with form and matter in equation to the spirit of Article 23. Organic cotton, in its various forms of poplin, twill, satin, jersey and pique, remains the DNA of the brand as we add new fabrics such as non violent silk and organic wool in a stylish evolution of our looks, as ever faithful to our environmental concerns.
Article 4 : Commitment to a strong social project
Article 23 was launched by La Compagnie du Commerce Equitable, a company which sources Fair Trade products worldwide to set up partnerships in favour of sustainable development, opening new lines of import and distribution. With this expertise and experience, Article 23 collaborates with workshops in India which conform to international standards of social responsibility and ethical issues, all the while defending the cause of women’s rights.
‘Everyone who works has the right to just and favourable remuneration ensuring for himself and his family an existence worthy of human dignity’
Article 23 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Article 23, a universe of duality, the meeting of casual and glamour, lightness and conscious realisation, sobriety and freedom.
